Listening: Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours dropped 40 years ago on February 4. Friends, who doesn’t know every word to every song? How could it have been 40 years? I mean…
Eating: Eating, eating, eating. What else does one do in February? Two current obsessions – one clean, one not so clean.
- Greek yogurt with frozen organic wild blueberries stirred in. Stir and eat before the berries thaw. It’s like candy, in your healthy yogurt!
- Boulder Canyon olive oil chips – a bag literally fell into my grocery cart. And on sale! They need to make a bigger bag. It’s a problem. We solved this dilemma by ordering 3 bags at a time from Jet.
You cannot eat just one!
Drinking: 100% fresh squeezed orange juice from Fresh Market. Drink your fruit!
Wearing: black yoga pants. every day. like they are my uniform. I may need an intervention. Soon.
Feeling: I have a new tag line for this hella year. Relentless optimism. It’s the healthy alternative. Join me?
Weather: Feb.18, sunny and a high of 72°. The forecast for the next few days? Equally fabulous.
Wanting: a reason to try Boomboxgifts.com. I wish I’d known about this very cool way to create a memory box last year for my sweetie’s birthday. The concept is to purchase a beautifully designed box, collaborate with friends and family to capture in writing a loved one’s story through vignettes, stories, jokes, quotes, etc. Boombox is your project manager complete with online dashboard. Check it out. It’s a neat idea.
Needing: a visit to our local Farmer’s Market. We’re a bit in the winter doldrums in our kitchen. Stews, soups and chili have lost their top rankings. The warmer weather calls for less stove-top cooking and more grill time. Tonight we’re having a Mediterranean feast, our version of “hello fresh”: One Skillet Paleo Mediterranean Chicken. Time tested, mom approved!
Thinking: that these are the sweetest days. Frank gave me roses for Valentine’s Day. Our love is such a treasure to me. This 50’something time of life is amazing. Time for simple pleasures, best-laid plans, belly laughs, late dinners and early nights.
Watching: Odd Mom Out. I discovered this light, chick flick genre, laugh out loud Bravo series in a roundabout way. I spend a lot of time in my car during the week driving from client to client. One day I heard Jill Kargman on Sirius XM radio. To be honest I didn’t dig her at first. I think it’s a generational thing. But I kept listening and liked her more and more. She’s got a sharp wit and she doesn’t hold back. So when she made references to her television series, Odd Mom Out, my curiosity was piqued. I’m a fan. I could binge watch seasons 1 and 2 but I’m choosing to go slowly until Season 3 is in the bag.
Yesterday was Random Acts of Kindness Day. I think we should make 2017 Random Acts of Kindness Year instead.
