I’ve been thinking about this aging situation for awhile. For example, when I walked away from a crazy busy career almost 3 years ago, I had already placed the stepping stones on my new path. (By the way, my path looks a lot like a hopscotch pattern and yes, I designed it that way on purpose.) Balance is good but boredom is bad. Boredom is an enemy to our bodies, our minds, and our spirits.
I give my 50s two thumbs up so far. I am enjoying my encore career at a part-time pace. I’m more physically active and I eat healthier. I travel. I exercise. My husband and I are closer than ever. Volunteering in my community is rewarding. Giving back feels good.
P.S. And…we’re getting a 9-week old puppy next week! Stay tuned for the adventure.
